Each spring, the American Academy in Rome announces the winners of the Rome Prize—scholars and artists of every discipline who are given the time and space to do their best work in Rome. In 2021, for the first time in more than 125 years, the ceremony took place virtually. I led our design and animation team in creating a video component for the event that introduces the winners to the world with as much fanfare and excitement as the customary party.
